On the 1st and 2nd of April club members demonstrated their safety boat skills
SPRING PLATE
The first dinghy race of the season took place on the 9th April in sunshine and light winds

This was as close to the water as the midweek club got due to strong easterlies on the 18th April

On the 7th May conditions were perfect for an exciting race around the club moorings

On the 14th May the cruisers drifted to Canvey and back in near windless conditions

On the 27th May Gravesend sea cadets were given a taster session on the club dinghies

On the 8th April dinghies and safety equipment were checked and cleaned in preparation for the season

Four cruisers competed in the first race of the cruiser series on the 15th April

On the 29th of April the weather improved for a competitive race downriver

On the 13th May we celebrated the King's coronation in GSC style with a mighty fine spread

On the 20th May the stamina of the dinghy sailors was tested in a long race in strong winds

On the 3rd and 4th of June all the trainees passed their start sailing course

On the 12th June heavy traffic on the river as we raced in the vicinity of the club

On the 24th of June, only one yacht finished as after a promising start the wind died completely

On the 2nd July after a hearty breakfast, the dinghies raced in challenging conditions
