The 37th Gravesham Thames started in very light southerly winds - initially with enough east to allow spinnakers for those who carried them. The first couple of hours were mostly a drift; then the wind picked up sufficiently for virtually all the boats to reach Woolwich. The extra wind arrived a little too late for many, however - just nine boats finished within the time limit, with a number finishing just out of time.

The 2011 Shivering Sands Race will be held on 25th June 2011 with a start time of 08:00. This is an Open Cruiser Race from Gravesend to the Shivering Sands Towers and back,which is a distance of 56NM.
This race is free to enter and there is a trophy awarded to the winner which will be presented at the club during the social event after race.
